Pochi
Pochi is inspired by the traditions of silk farming, production, and weaving in Chin state – they are revitalizing rural silk craft in Myanmar. The farming families are working hard to harvest mulberry and rear silkworms to produce Chin’s first silk threads in over 30 years, whilst in Yangon, they are developing products with imported silk until the first delivery of Chin silk arrives. Pochi silk masks have been handwoven on traditional looms by Ma Hnin, Sandar, Thuzar, and Pochi's Chin weavers. In non-Covid19 times, you can visit Pochi's Yangon studio to watch their master-weavers at work – but in the meantime, you can support our mission of empowering rural producers by purchasing products online.
